For this lesson, I tried to make it student-centered so that they wouldn't get bored. I chose an easy topic that the majority of my classmates already knew so that we could focus more on the activities and to spend less time explaining the concept. I first explained what a fraction is and the parts of it and I took my classmates right away to an activity where they could participate. In the first activity, I gave them a fraction and they had to do a drawing to represent that fraction, I wanted them to do something different instead of just answering questions. I liked that they could complete the activity the way I wanted and that everyone participated. For the assessment, I used Kahoot. I did not know of this website/game until I saw some of my classmates use it. I love this game because students have fun and at the same time, the teacher is able to make conclusions on the students' learning. I think I could have done better by practicing before presenting so that I can time myself, and to get to know the apps I will use because it was the first time I used these two apps ever and I was nervous thinking it was not going to work.
This blog is created to post about my reflections throughout the semester regarding technology in education. Posts will be about my progress and changes in my philosophy of education. This will benefit me because I will be able to share my thoughts with my classmates and I will get to see their points of view as well. At the end of the semester, I can reflect on everything I learned which will influence my teaching.
